How to Compare Vendor Quotations Effectively
Price is only one column — what else to check before accepting a quote.

Confirm every quote is for the same spec
The lowest price is meaningless if it's for a lower grade of material or a smaller quantity. Line up quotations against your original requirement item by item before comparing totals.
Check what's included in delivery
Freight, loading and unloading charges are sometimes quoted separately and sometimes bundled in. A lower headline price with freight added later can end up costing more than a higher all-in quote.
Check vendor readiness, not just price
A vendor's service area coverage, documented policies and verified commercial documents affect whether an order can actually be fulfilled on time — worth checking before committing to the cheapest quote.
It's fine to split the order
If one vendor has the best price on cement and another on steel, you don't have to pick a single winner — accepting the best offer per item, across multiple vendors, on the same requirement is a normal and often cheaper approach.
