A Beginner's Guide to Requesting a Quote (RFQ)
What to include in a requirement so vendors can quote accurately the first time.

What an RFQ actually does
A Request for Quote lets you describe what you need once and receive quotations from multiple verified vendors, instead of contacting suppliers one by one. Start one at Request a Quote.Be specific about specification and quantity
Grade, brand preference (if any), quantity and unit of measure all affect the quote you get back. Vague requirements produce vague, hard-to-compare quotations.
Include delivery location and timeline
Vendors price freight based on distance and check serviceability based on pincode — providing this upfront avoids a round of back-and-forth before you even see a number.
What happens after you submit
Verified vendors review your requirement and respond with quotations, which you can then compare side by side and accept — in full or split across vendors — before an order is placed.
