Overview
Cat Build Mart facilitates site delivery of construction materials supplied by sellers and logistics partners.
Delivery may include: bags; pieces; bundles; tonnes; cubic metres; bulk loads; pallets; machinery-supported unloading; and specialised construction-material transport.
The exact delivery method depends on product, seller, location and order conditions.
Delivery Coverage
Delivery is subject to: seller coverage; PIN code; project/site location; road accessibility; vehicle restrictions; product availability; transport availability; local regulations.
The platform should display serviceability before or during checkout wherever possible.
Processing Time
Order Processing. Typical statuses may include:
Order Confirmed → Processing → Packed/Ready → Dispatched → In Transit → Out for Delivery → Delivered
Users can track status through Account → My Orders → Track Order.
Shipping Charges
Delivery charges may depend on: distance; order value; product type; weight; volume; vehicle type; unloading requirements; tolls; permit requirements; delivery urgency.
Applicable mandatory charges should be disclosed before final order confirmation.
Unloading. Unless expressly included in the quotation, unloading may not be included in product price. The order should clearly identify whether delivery is: delivery only; delivery + unloading; crane-assisted; forklift-assisted; labour unloading; or customer-unloading.
Delivery Timelines
Estimated delivery time may be shown on the product, quotation or order page.
Delivery estimates are not guaranteed where delay results from: supplier production; traffic; weather; government restrictions; force majeure; site-access problems; vehicle breakdown; strikes; natural events.
Where a delay gives rise to rights under applicable consumer/e-commerce law, those rights remain unaffected. E-commerce rules include protections in relation to late delivery.
Tracking Orders
Site Delivery Requirements. The customer must ensure: safe vehicle access; adequate road width; appropriate unloading space; site readiness; permission to enter the site; authorised recipient availability.
Where heavy vehicles such as tippers, trailers, transit mixers or cranes are required, customers should disclose access restrictions before order confirmation.
Delivery Verification. Upon delivery, the recipient should verify where reasonably possible: Order ID; Product; Brand; Specification; Quantity; Visible condition; Invoice/delivery challan.
A delivery OTP, electronic acknowledgement or authorised signature may be used as proof of delivery.
Partial Delivery. Certain bulk orders may be delivered in multiple loads. The order page should indicate: total ordered quantity; delivered quantity; balance quantity; and remaining delivery schedule.
The Sale of Goods Act contains statutory rules concerning delivery, wrong quantities and instalment deliveries, subject to the parties' contract.
Delays & Exceptions
Failed Delivery. A delivery may fail if: address is incorrect; recipient unavailable; site inaccessible; vehicle entry prohibited; unloading not possible; safety conditions are unsuitable.
Additional delivery charges may be applicable for re-attempts only where disclosed and legally permissible.
Delayed Delivery. Where a seller cannot fulfil within the stated schedule, CATBM may: communicate a revised date; arrange an alternative seller where feasible; permit cancellation where applicable; or process an appropriate remedy.
Marketplace sellers cannot simply rely on a “no refund” label where the e-commerce rules require them to address late delivery.
Site Deliveries
Damaged Goods. If visible damage occurs: photograph the goods; note the issue on the delivery record where possible; do not unnecessarily use damaged goods; report through My Orders → Report Issue; keep relevant packaging/documents until the claim is reviewed.
Short Quantity. Where quantity delivered is lower than ordered, report: ordered quantity; delivered quantity; delivery challan; weight slip where applicable; photographs/video.
The seller/CATBM will investigate and provide the legally/applicably appropriate resolution.
Failed Delivery Attempts
Title and Risk. Title/risk in goods will be determined according to the applicable seller-buyer contract and Indian law. The Sale of Goods Act specifically addresses passage of property, delivery to carriers, risk and buyer examination.
Rental Equipment Delivery. Equipment transportation is governed separately through the rental agreement, including: mobilisation; demobilisation; operator; fuel; site access; delivery inspection; return inspection.
